Beloved Heart of Jesus, we of your Priests of the Sacred heart community in India, wish to contribute our intercessions for the successful outcome of the General Chapter in May of this year 2003.
We pray that the work the various Provinces have done in preparation for this Chapter be more and more refined and brought into a unity of purpose and decision which is directed by our own Spirit.
We pray that our General Superior and his councilors, together with all the delegates assembled with them, be open and sensitive to such new inspirations as your loving Heart distills into their hearts, by way of our Rule of Life, the spirit and example of our Founder, the hopes of our members and the demands of our times.
We pray that the choice by the delegates of the new General Superior and his Council will be your own choice, the will of the Father, guided by the Holy Spirit.
We offer this prayer in union with the Immaculate Heart of Mary, St. Joseph our Protector, Blessed Juan de la Cruz Garcia Mendez, our Venerable Father Leo John Dehon and all those who, having gone before us, have begun to partake of the rewards prepared for those who have believed and have preserved in hope.
We rely humbly on your own faithfulness, as first told in such reassuring words by your Apostle To timothy: "If we are faithless, he remains faithful -- for he cannot deny himself." Amen
