As you already may be aware, I, Carlos Alberto da Costa Silva, have been given oversight in the Congregation for the sector "Social Responsibility -- Justice and Peace" according to our "Plan: We, the Congregation in Service to the Mission" (nº 42).

The XXth General Chapter decided to suspend all General Commissions until the next meeting of the Provincial and Regional Superiors with the General Administration this coming November; at that time, how such organisms are to work within the Congregation will be decided.

Nevertheless, within the framework of the responsibility given me, I use this occasion to notify you that the Website (http://www.scj.org) of the General SCJ Curia shall contain a specific site for "Justice and Peace". Additionally, a specific email address <jpscj@scj.org> has been created for this very important sector. In this way, or using fax, it will be possible to have rapid and direct communications with the person in the Congregation responsible for this sector.

Will you kindly transmit this information to the person in your province responsible for this sector, as well as to the rest of your province? Will you also kindly transmit the name of the person/persons (Commission or Secretary) in your province responsible for this sector?
