In this first month of pastoral work, after the months of January and February which were a little more relaxed, we emphasize the first meeting of the Parish Pastoral Council. On Saturday March 23rd we gathered some 20 delegates from all parts of the parish, to discuss what is the role of a "Consejo Parochial" in our Parish of ANCUD where we have a special situation.
As we already explained in an earlier "Chronicle"; the parish with its 50 communities and chapels is divided into seven sectors, that monthly meet and plan the activities for each sector. Three representatives from each sector were chosen to form the parish council. During this year we expect to gather together only three times, because of the problems of distances and the increase in the number of meetings. On this occasion, the bishop joined us to help Juan MarÌa. A major part of the meeting was dedicated to see how to organize the pastoral council. The diocese had prepared a document about this which served as an orientation for us. It was a good meeting, in spite of the fact that not all the delegates attended. There was good participation and discussion.
Holy Week fell very early this year during the last days of the month of March. Once again all our communities celebrated their faith around the death and the resurrection of Jesus. As we noted in a "Chronicle" of last year, Holy Week is the most important party of our faith and the people of ChiloÈ live it intensely. In the rural communities we had prepared with the leaders a series of celebrations for their communities which they could celebrate without a priest being present.
The great majority did it actively, and not only the Way of the Cross but also the Paschal Vigil, as part of a same reality: Christ died, certainly, on Good Friday, but did not remain a dead person but rose from the dead. It was important for them not to dwell on a Christ dead in their community, but a Christ alive and present.
Little by little we are finishing the month of April. In this month Juan and Mario went to Jaragua, Brazil to the encounter for young professed scjs of Latin America. In the meantime Fr. Enrique Merks came to help out until April 25th. On the 24th Hern·n went for some well deserved holidays to his native Holland. It means more work for Juan and Mario, but they are willing to assume it with gusto!
We're finishing this letter as we're entering the month of May! The three of us have taken the decision that Hern·n take holiday time in Holland to rest and will return the parish in July. ChiloÈ send greetings to all you until the next opportunity.
En este primer mes de trabajo pastoral, despuÈs de los meses de enero y febrero que eran un poco m·s relajados, destacamos la primera reuniÛn del Consejo Pastoral de la Parroquia. El dÌa s·bado 23 de marzo nos reunimos unos 20 delegados de toda la parroquia, para pensar juntos quÈ significa un "Consejo Parroquial" en nuestra Parroquia de ANCUD donde tenemos una situaciÛn especial.
Como ya hemos explicado en otras "CrÛnicas"; la parroquia con sus 50 comunidades y capillas est· dividida en 7 sectores, que mensualmente se reúnen y planifican las actividades en todos los sectores parroquiales . Tres representantes de estos sectores fueron elegidos para formar el Consejo Parroquial. Durante este aÒo esperamos reunirnos solamente 3 veces, por los problemas de distancias y el aumento de las reuniones. En esta ocasiÛn, nos acompaÒÛ el obispo auxiliar Juan MarÌa. Gran parte de la asamblea la dedicamos a ver cÛmo organizar el Consejo Pastoral. La DiÛcesis habÌa preparado un documento sobre esto que nos sirviÛ como orientaciÛn. Fue una buena reuniÛn, a pesar de que no todos los delegados asistieron, hubo una buena participaciÛn y discusiÛn.
La Semana Santa cayÛ este aÒo muy temprano. Los últimos dÌas del mes de marzo de nuevo todas nuestras comunidades celebraron su fe alrededor de la muerte y la resurrecciÛn de Jesús. Como ya habÌamos comentado en una "CrÛnica" del aÒo pasado la Semana Santa es la fiesta m·s importante de nuestra fe y la gente de ChiloÈ la vive intensamente. En las comunidades rurales habÌamos preparado con los fiscales una serie de celebraciones que ellos junto con su comunidad y sin la intervenciÛn del sacerdote o ministro podrÌan celebrar. La gran mayorÌa lo hizo activamente y no solamente el VÌa Crucis sino tambiÈn la Vigilia Pascual, como parte de una misma realidad: Cristo muriÛ, por cierto, el dÌa de Viernes Santo, pero no quedÛ muerto sino resucitÛ. Esto fue importante para ellos para no quedar con un Cristo muerto en su comunidad, sino un Cristo vivo y presente.
Poco a poco estamos terminando el mes de abril. En este mes Juan y Mario fueron a Brasil al encuentro con los jÛvenes profesos Dehonianos en Jaragua del Sur. Mientras tanto el padre .Enrique Merks nos vino a ayudar hasta el 25 de abril. El dÌa 24 Hern·n se fue a unas merecidas vacaciones en Holanda. Todo esto significar· bastante trabajo para Juan y Mario, pero est·n dispuestos a asumirlo con gusto.
Terminando esta carta ya entrando en el mes de mayo tenemos prisa por mandarla.. Los tres hemos tomado la decisiÛn de que Hern·n tome un tiempo de vacaciones en Holanda para descansar y retomar la parroquia en Julio. Desde ChiloÈ un saludo a todos Uds. y hasta la prÛxima oportunidad.
In questo primo mese di lavoro pastorale, dopo i mesi di gennnaio e febbraio che sono stati un po' più tranquilli, abbiamo dato importanza al primo incontro del Consiglio Pastorale Parrocchiale. Sabato 23 marzo abbiamo raccolto 20 delegati da tutte le parti della parrocchia, per discutere sul ruolo del Consiglio Pastorale nella nostra parrocchia di Ancud, dove esiste una situazione particolare.
Come abbiamo già spiegato in una precedente "Cronaca", la parrocchia, con le sue 50 comunità e cappelle, Ë divisa in sette settori, che ogni mese si incontrano e pianificano l'attività. Tre rappresentanti di ciascun settore formano il consiglio parrocchiale. Nel corso di quest'anno pensiamo di riunirci solo tre volte, a causa delle distanze e per il moltiplicarsi del numero degli incontri. In questa occasione il Vescovo si Ë unito a noi, per aiutare Juan MarÌa. La maggior parte dell'incontro Ë stato dedicato a vedere come organizzare il Consiglio Pastorale. La Diocesi aveva preparato in proposito un documento, che ci è servito di orientamento. È stato un buon incontro, nonostante il fatto che non tutti i delegati fossero presenti. Vi Ë stata buona partecipazione ed una buona discussione.
La Settimana Santa Ë caduta molto presto quest'anno, negli ultimi giorni del mese di marzo. Una volta ancora tutte le nostre comunità hanno celebrato la loro fede nella morte e risurrezione di Gesù. Come notavamo in una "Cronaca" dello scorso anno, la settimana santa è la festa più importante della nostra fede e la gente di ChiloÈ la vive intensamente. Nelle comunità rurali avevamo preparato, con i responsabili, una serie di celebrazioni: quelle che si possono realizzare senza la presenza del sacerdote.
La grande maggioranza le ha realizzate attivamente, e non solo la Via Crucis, ma anche la Veglia Pasquale, come parte di una stessa realtà: Cristo è morto certamente il Venerdì Santo, ma non è rimasto nella tomba, è risorto da morte. È molto importante per loro non soffermarsi su di un Cristo morto nella loro comunità, ma su di un Cristo vivo e presente.
Un po' alla volta stiamo finendo anche il mese d'aprile. In questo mese Juan e Mario sono andati a Jaragua, in Brasile, per l'incontro dei giovani religiosi scj dell'America Latina. Nel frattempo è venuto ad aiutarci fino al 25 aprile il P. Enrique Merks. Il 24 Hern·n è partito per delle ben meritate vacanze nella nativa Olanda. Ciò significa un maggior lavoro per Juan e Mario, ma certamente sono disposti ad assumerlo volentieri!
Stiamo finendo la lettera e siamo già a maggio! Noi tre abbiamo preso la decisione che Hernàn prenda le vacanze in Olanda per riposarsi e tornare alla parrocchia in luglio. Da ChiloÈ un saluto a tutti, e alla prossima!
