Cada verano, los supervivientes de los dos primeros meses del Programa ESL obtienen una semana de descanso en la propiedad de la Provincia US en Taylor Lake.

Durante esta semana, la regla es descansar y relajarse, en el mejor de los sentidos. Sin embargo, este verano adquiere especial significación para los participantes del ESL ya que es el último verano que podemos utilizar esta casa.

La Provincia US ha vendido la propiedad, lo que significa que el tradicional descanso en Taylor Lake ha llegado a su fin y el próximo curso de verano tendrá que recobrar fuerzas para el mes de septiembre en otro sitio.

La experiencia del Taylor Lake, además de un tiempo de relajación, también significa otra oportunidad de integración entre los participantes del ESL fuera del Monasterio de Hales Corners.

Durante esta semana, los participantes del ESL, la mayoría de ellos SCJ, hemos podido compartir nuestro tiempo pescando, charlando, leyendo, paseando por el lago y disfrutando de la belleza que este terreno nos ofrece.

Además de esto, de acuerdo con nuestro carisma, hemos participado diariamente de la eucaristía con la tranquilidad y el regocijo que esta semana nos ha proporcionado. Incluso hemos tenido la oportunidad de enriquecer la celebración con los diversos elementos que nos ofrece la diversidad de lenguas y formas de vida religiosa de los que aquí estamos.

Por si fuera poco, hemos tenido la oportunidad de conocer aspectos típicos de esta zona del Up North de los Estados Unidos. Tuvimos la oportunidad de asistir a una comedia musical en el Northern Lights Playhouse, en el estilo de las obras de teatro del oeste, presentando "The Nunsense Jamboree".

Después del teatro hemos tenido la oportunidad de ver una de las formas más populares de distracción de esta parte de los Estados Unidos, el casino. Algunos probaron suerte con las "máquinas de la suerte", las ruletas. El más destacado fue Blasius Sukoto, quien con 25 centavos de dólar obtuvo 52 dólares.

Después del Casino volvimos a casa para un merecido descanso. Durante nuestro último día hemos aprovechado el sol radiante que nos ha acompañado para navegar en el río, hacer las últimas fotos y limpiar la casa.

Ahora se abre el mes de Septiembre, para la mayoría de nosotros el último mes del ESL, al menos por ahora. Al volver a Hales Corners nos esperan diversas actividades, la más esperada de todas la "Feria Cultural del ESL" (Cultural Fair), donde cada participante estará presentando aspectos típicos de su país y su cultura.

Así, ha concluido un ciclo en el Programa ESL y, a la vez, un ciclo en la casa de descanso de Taylor Lake.

Every summer, the survivors of the first two months of the ESL (English as a Second Language) Program get a one week break at the holiday house owned by the US Province at Taylor Lake in Northern Wisconsin. During this week, the rule is to rest and to relax, in the best sense of the word. This summer acquires special meaning for the participants of ESL since it is the last summer that we can use this house. The US Province has sold the property, which means that the traditional rest at Taylor Lake will have to look elsewhere next year for September recovery week.

The experience of the Taylor Lake, in addition to a time of relaxation, also means another opportunity of integration between the participants of the ESL outside the Monastery in Hales Corners. During this week, the participants of ESL, most of them scjs, have been able to share our time fishing, chatting, reading, taking walks by the lake and enjoying the beauty that this land affords us.

In addition to this, in accord with our charism, we participated in daily Eucharist with the tranquillity and the rejoicing that this week gave us. We have even had the opportunity to enrich the celebration with the diversity of languages and cultures from which we come.

We also had the opportunity to get to know this area of the North Woods. We had the opportunity to attend a musical comedy ìThe Nunsense Jamboreeî at the Northern Lights Playhouse. After the theater we had the opportunity to see one of the most popular forms of distraction in this part of the United States, the casino. Some proved lucky with the " machines of the luck ", the slot machine. Our luckiest was Blasius Sukoto from Indonesia, who with his 25 cents won 52 dollars.

After the Casino we returned home for a well deserved rest. During our last day we took advantage of the sunshine to sail on the lake, to take our the photos and to clean the house.

Now the month of September begins, and for most of us it is the last month of ESL, at least for this year. On our return to Hales Corners we look forward to several events, the most important of which is our ESL Cultural Fair, where each participant will be presenting/displaying typical aspects of their country and its culture. Thus, ends a summer cycle in the ESL Program, as well as the life cycle of the holiday house at Taylor Lake.

Ogni estate, i superstiti dai primi due mesi dell'ESL (English as a Second Language) fanno un break di una settimana in una casa di proprietà della Provincia US a Tyler Lake nel Nord Wisconsin.

Durante quella settimana, la regola è riposare e rilassarsi, in tutti i sensi. Quest'estate ha avuto un significato particolare per i partecipanti dell'ESL perché è l'ultimo anno che possono usufruire della casa.

La Provincia US ha venduto la proprietà, e ciò significa che il riposo tradizionale a Tylor Lake è arrivato alla fine e il prossimo corso d'estate dovrà recuperare le forze altrove nella settimana del riposo settembrino.

L'esperienza del Tyler Lake, oltre ad essere un tempo di rilassamento, significa un'altra opportunità di integrazione tra i partecipanti dell'ESL all'esterno del Monastero di Hales Corners. Durante questa settimana, noi partecipanti dell'ESL (la maggioranza sono SCJ) abbiamo potuto condividere il nostro tempo pescando, chiacchierando, leggendo, passeggiando lungo il lago e godendo della bellezza che questo terreno ci offre.

Oltre a questo, nello spirito del nostro carisma, abbiamo condiviso giornalmente l'eucaristia con la tranquillità e la gioia che questa settimana ci ha procurato.Abbiamo perfino avuto l'opportunità di arricchire la celebrazione coi diversi elementi che dati dalla diversità di lingue e forme di vita religiosa che portiamo con noi.

Abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di conoscere aspetti tipici di questa zona dell'Up North degli Stati Uniti. Abbiamo assistito ad una commedia musicale nel Northern Lights Playhouse, nello stile delle opere teatrali dell'ovest, che ci ha presentato The Nunsense Jamboree.

Oltre il teatro abbiamo avuto l'opportunità di vedere una delle forme più popolari di divertimento di questa parte degli Stati Uniti, il casinò. Alcuni hanno cercato la fortuna con le "macchine della fortuna", le roulette. Il più distaccato è stato Blasius Sukoto che con 25 centesimi ha guadagnato 52 dollari.

Dopo il Casinò siamo tornati a casa per un meritato riposo. Durante il nostro ultimo giorno abbiamo approfittato del sole raggiante che ci ha accompagnati per navigare sul fiume, fare le ultime foto e pulire la casa.

Ora si apre il mese di Settembre, per la maggioranza di noi l'ultimo mese dell'ESL, almeno per quest'anno. Ritornando ad Hales Corners ci attendono diverse attività, la più attesa di tutte è la Fiera Culturale dell'ESL (Culturale Fair), dove ogni partecipante dovrà presentando aspetti tipici del suo paese e la sua cultura. Così, è finito un ciclo nel corso ESL e, contemporaneamente, un ciclo nella casa di riposo di Tyler Lake.
