Province email addresses 

At the time of the XXth General Chapter provinces and regions were asked to obtain email address to facilitate the rapid and smooth transmission of chapter information. A list of those provinces and regions now online follows. The General Administration is encouraging all provinces, regions and territorial communities to obtain email address as soon as it is locally practical for them to do so. Archivist

The General Superior, after consulting his council, has appointed Fr. Adrian Borst, scj (NE) as the Congregational Archivist. In June of this year Fr. Borst completed 12 years of service as a member of the general council. He came to the general administration in 1985 from Finland, where,a t the time, he was regional superior.

Légaré to the rescue

Maurice Légaré, scj (CG) has agreed to try and translate the homepage materials from English into French. It may not be possible for him to tackle every item that appears, please be patient. Government Study Commission being formed

The XXth General Chapter mandated the study of the governance of the congregation at the general, provincial and zonal (geographical levels). Under the direction of Fr. Umberto Chiarello, scj (vicar general) a group of four scjs, representing different segments of the congregation, is being assembled to take up this mandate. A meeting at the General Curia has been tentatively scheduled for the last week of January, 1998.
