The idea which was developed in the fourth meeting of the laymen of the continent, it will be carried out in 2005

Santiago (Chile), June 5 (VID) - "In the current state, it is religious who have to open themselves up the most to the idea of the Dehonian Family and to the groups of Dehonian that are coming. While organizational autonomy is complete, the accompaniment of religious is still essential for formative support. While many have done so, not everyone has become aware that they will have to tend toward the self-financing of their own activities." Father Umberto Chiarello, SCJ, pointed this out, summing up the results of the Fourth Latin American meeting of Lay Dehonians, that took place at the beginning of May in Chile.

The most important result of the meeting, according to the Vicar General of the Dehonians, has been in the awareness having been raised that a boost must be given to the formation of the Dehonian Family. And it was as a matter of fact decided that the next meeting won't be the "fifth" but the First of the Dehonian Family of Latin America.

A common formative project and discussions on the profile of the lay Dehonian were the two principal issues which occupied the deliberations. "Everyone agrees &endash; Father Chiarello pointed out summing up the deliberations concerning this - that the Dehonian Family is built around the Evangelical Life Project of Father Dehon and not around the SCJ Institute. The basic reason is that the Father Dehon's charism consists its spirituality and mission, of everyone who takes part, and not in one determined and specific apostolic work carried out by the SCJ institute.

Everyone furthermore agrees that one can become a Lay Dehonian, to the degree that they make Father Dehon's evangelical life plan their own ' as a personal option of life and as a personal Christian vocation, for which the duty of the Dehonian is to embody Father Dehon's charism in its lay state." The next appointment in 2005 in Uruguay, will consequently be devoted then drawing up a "Profile of the Lay Latin-American Dehonian."

As for the experiences, Father Chiarello pointed ut the example of a "prophetic community" which was set up in Chile. "A group of families have their houses one next to the other with common courtyards and spaces; they are officials of the "San Teodoro" Chapel of the district; they lead the prayer and the Sunday paraliturgies, in the absence of the priest; they are the catechists of their children and the children of the zone, they are extraordinary ministers for the Eucharist and the ill. What unites them together, in this ecclesiastical commitment, is Dehonian spirituality and the figure of Father Dehon."

Santiago del Cile (Cile), 5 giugno (VID) - "Allo stato attuale sono i religiosi a doversi aprire maggiormente allíidea della Famiglia dehoniana e ai gruppi del Laicato dehoniano, che incalzano. Se líautonomia organizzativa Ë piena, líaccompa- gnamento dei religiosi Ë ancora necessario per il sostegno formativo. Infine molti, ma non tutti, stanno prendendo coscienza di dover tendere allíautofinanziamento delle proprie attivitý". Lo rileva padre Umberto Chiarello, SCJ, riassumendo i risultati del Quarto incontro latinoamericano dei laici dehoniani, che si Ë svolto allíinizio di maggio in Cile.

Il maggiore risultato dellíincontro, secondo il Vicario generale dei Dehoniani, Ë stato nella presa di coscienza che occorre un impulso alla formazione della Famiglia dehoniana. Ed infatti Ë stato deciso che il prossimo incontro non sarý il "quinto" ma il Primo della Famiglia Dehoniana dellíAmerica Latina.

Progetto formativo comune e discussione sul profilo del laico dehoniano sono stati i due temi principali del dibattito. "Tutti concordano ñ rileva padre Chiarello riassumendo i lavori a questo proposito - che la Famiglia dehoniana si costruisce intorno al Progetto di vita evangelica di p. Dehon e non intorno allíIstituto SCJ. La ragione di fondo Ë che il carisma di p. Dehon consiste nella sua spiritualitý e missione, da tutti partecipata, e non in una determinata e specifica opera apostolica svolta dallíIstituto SCJ.

Tutti inoltre concordano che in tanto si puÚ divenire Laico dehoniano, in quanto si assume il ëprogetto di vita evangelica di p. Dehoní come opzione personale di vita e come vocazione cristiana personale, per cui compito del Laico dehoniano Ë di incarnare nel suo stato laicale il carisma di p. Dehon". Il prossimo appuntamento nel 2005 in Uruguay, sarý allora dedicato ad elaborare un "Profilo del Laico dehoniano Latino-americano".

Quanto alle esperienze, padre Chiarello porta líesempio di una "comunitý profetica" realizzata in Cile. "Un gruppo di famiglie ha la sua casa una accanto allíaltra con cortiletti e spazi comuni; esse sono responsabili della Cappella "San Teodoro" del quartiere; dirigono la preghiera e le paraliturgie domenicali, in assenza del sacerdote; sono catechisti dei loro figli e dei ragazzi della zona, sono ministri straordinari per líEucaristia e gli ammalati. CiÚ che li unisce fra loro, in questo impegno ecclesiale, Ë la spiritualitý dehoniana e la figura di p. Dehon".
 
 

L'idée a mûri lors de la quatrième rencontre des laïcs du continent, et elle sera réalisée en 2005

Santiago (Chili), 5 juin (VID) – "Actuellement, ce sont les religieux qui doivent s'ouvrir davantage à l'idée de la Famille Dehonienne et aux groupes du Laïcat Dehonien, qui deviennent pressants. Si l'autonomie d'organisation est totale, l'accompagnement des religieux est encore nécessaire afin de soutenir la formation. Enfin, beaucoup, mais non pas tout le monde, prennent conscience de la nécessité de tendre vers l'autosuffisance dans ses propres activités". C'est ce qu'observe le père Umberto Chiarello, SCJ, en résumant les résultats de la Quatrième rencontre latino-américaine des laïcs dehoniens, qui s'est tenue au début du mois de mai au Chili.

Le résultat le plus important de la rencontre, selon le Vicaire général des Dehoniens, a été la prise de conscience de la nécessité de donner une impulsion à la formation de la Famille Dehonienne. En effet, il a été décidé que la prochaine rencontre ne sera pas la "cinquième", mais la Première de la Famille Dehonienne de l'Amérique Latine.

Le projet de formation commune et la discussion du profil du laïc dehonien ont été les deux thèmes principaux du débat. "Tout le monde est d'accord – remarquer le père Chiarello en résumant les travaux à ce sujet – que la Famille Dehonienne se construit autour du Projet de vie évangélique du père Dehon et non autour de l'Institut SCJ. La raison fondamentale est que le charisme du père Dehon consiste en sa spiritualité et sa mission, partagée par tout le monde, et non pas en une œuvre apostolique déterminée et spécifique réalisée par l'Institut SCJ.

En outre, tous sont d'accord qu'on peut devenir un laïc dehonien dans la mesure même où l'on adopte le 'projet de vie évangélique du père Dehon' comme choix personnel de vie et comme vocation chrétienne personnelle, en sorte que la tâche du laïc dehonien consiste à incarner dans son état de laïc le charisme du père Dehon". Le prochain rendez-vous en 2005 en Uruguay sera alors consacré à l'élaboration du "Profil du Laïc Dehonien Latino-américain".

Quant aux expériences, le père Chiarello cite l'exemple d'une "communauté prophétique" réalisée en Chine. "Un groupe de familles ont leurs maisons l'une à côté de l'autre, avec de petites cours et des espaces communs. Elles sont responsables de la Chapelle "Saint Théodore" du quartier. Elles dirigent la prière et les paraliturgies du dimanche, en l'absence du prêtre. Les parents jouent le rôle de catéchistes vis-à-vis de leurs fils et des enfants de la zone, ils sont des ministres extraordinaires pour l'Eucharistie et les malades. Ce qui les unit dans cet engagement ecclésial, c'est la spiritualité dehonienne et la figure du père Dehon.
