Hernán has forwarded the fifth Cronica desde Ancud, dated July 22, 2001. He speaks about several topics starting with the local jail and, of course, commenting on the July winter weather(cf. Detención). We have asked him to send some photographs and hopefully will publish them at a later date.
Still Looking
When the summer ESL program ends next month our website will lose it's Spanish language translator Juan Jose ...... We are still looking for a replacement. If interested please contact us at (tomc@scj.org). Our web page works as follows.
Usually the news page and its various links are put together on Monday morning* and sent to the translators (French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese plus and English language proffer) with the work returned to me by Thursday. The finished material in HTML format is then sent to Helsinki, Finland where Zdzislaw Huber posts the material on Saturdays, usually no later then 6:00 PM local time. Faithful readers are aware that positing can sometimes be delayed for technical reasons or due to Huber's work schedule.
*Of course my work on Monday in part depends on travel schedules. This week's edition, for example, was put together at 37,000 feet on a flight heading for the twin cities of Minneapolis - St. Paul on my way back to Milwaukee.
