This year (2002) in Finland we introduced a summer program.
The program opened with camps for children, families and other different
groups.
The theme this year was Peace.

The children's camp was under the care of the Ursuline Sisters Barbara and Renata. Fr. Zdzislaw Huber, scj, was the chaplain for this group. We especially remembered the Native American peoples who are our sisters and brothers. The children were very happy to learn about them.
We would like send to them greetings from Finland, especially to those, who are working with our SCJ Priests and Brothers in South Dakota. |
During camp we had an educational display from the local fire department for the children. Among other things, they were taught fire safety and rescue techniques. We hope this was useful for children.
At the other camp, which we call The English Camp we received great help directly from the USA. At this camp the children were English speaking. Father Paul Grizzelle-Reid, scj, superior of Sacred Heart Monastery, and Donald Malin a seminarian at Sacred Heart School of Theology helped with the daily classes and music. We thank them both for their help. |
Greetings from Finland
