What's New

Fr. Savino Palermo (ZA) has written a reflection on the life and work of Br. Jerry Selenke, in Kisangani [Democratic Republic of the Congo], who died in Milwaukee on May 12, 1999 (Cf. Brother Jerry Selenke Missionary in Kisangani).

In the newspaper section of Vidimus Dominum for June 28, 1999, there is an article of interest to those preparing for next year's General Conference: FOREIGN DEBT: FATHER ZANOTELLI, BECOME AWARE OF AND AND CHANGE THE ECONOMIC MECHANISMS. Vidimus Dominum publishes in four languages: English, Italian, French and Spanish. You may access the article by going to the Newspaper section in the language of your choice (Cf. www.vidimusdominum.org).

Editor's Note: Vidimus Dominum is a website maintained by USG (Union of Superiors General).

We present the tenth in our series of Dehon cartoons by Javier Prate, a collaborator on several SCJ publications in Spain. The images are displayed in the church of Saint Martin, Saint Quentin (GA). They are aimed at young people, but can be appreciated by all generations. They depict different scenes in Fr. Dehon's life and his spirituality. this week's image is entitled: "Le prêtre se doit d'intervenir dans la mêlée sociale!"

The South Italian Provincial Office (IM) has a new email address, curia1@uol.it. Please make note of the change. Provincial email addresses can be found on our links page.

This week we have two texts on the theme of our General Conference: The fifth part of the Dossier-ACLI, an article in Italian by Guido Miglietta, "Il Tradimento dell'etica finanziaria" and the third part of a speech by Professor A. Hari from Strasbourg: "L'Argent - Maître du Monde?". These have been posted the General Conference section.
