Lavras SCJ Vocation Conference Group Photo The Lavras Vocation Conference has completed it's two week study program and begins a week long journey for some of the participants through parts of the South Brazilian Province and the Region of South Brazil. It all begins today with a journey from Lavras to Rio de Janeiro. Tomorrow P. Zezinho and others will put on a show for the group.

From July 19 to 28 the European Provinces plus the United States held a common preparation program for final vows in La Chapelle, France. Twenty scjs took part representing the following provinces: GA (1), GE (1), HI (5), IM (1), IS (1), LU (5), PO (5), US (1).André Perroux (GA), Albert Vander Elst (FL), Joseph Famerée (EF) George Deptula (EF) Isildo Gomes da Silva (LU), Jerzy Bernaciak (PO) Joaquín Izurzu were the supporting team for the meeting.
At the conclusion of the program the group published a message to the congregation (CF. Message from Participants in La Capelle Final Vow Program).
The North American SCJ Assembly at Hales Corners, WI runs from August 16th to the 20th. This includes the United States (US) and Anglo Canadian (CA)provinces and the region of French Canada (CGA). Fr. General and Fr. Tom Cassidy will also be participating.
Fr. Robert J. Schreiter, C.PP.S., will address the assembly. He was one of the speakers to address the XXth General Chapter in Rome.
We congratulate the following members of the Mozambique Province (MZ) who are making their final profession today, August 14, 1999:The ceremony is taking place in the Parish of Sagrada Família, in Quelimane. In addition four postulants begin their novitiate year.
