We are pleased to add a link (Links page) to the new SCJ Philippine web site which recently went on line. We are also happy to note this site marks the 10th anniversary (May 17, 1989) of scj presence in the Philippines (CF. www.oronet.com.ph/~scjphil/).

A letter from Fr. General to the congregation (Letter from Fr. General on the Philippines and India) has been posted to the Letters and Documents page. In addition, the homily given by Fr. General to open the meeting of formation personnel in Rome (May 10-21, 1999) has also been posted (Cf. Fr. General's Homily of May 10, 1999).

We present the fifth in our series of Dehon cartoons by Javier Prate, a collaborator on several SCJ publications in Spain. The images are displayed in the church of Saint Martin, Saint Quentin (GA). They are aimed at young people, but can be appreciated by all generations. They depict different scenes in Fr. Dehon's life and his spirituality. this week's image is entitled: "Les dehoniens, présents dans tous les continents "

What's Happening

The General Superior with the consent of his council has appointed the following provincial administration for South Italy (IM) effective July 1, 1999:

On May, 31, the superior for the District of Philippines (PHI) will be installed. The event coincides with the first profession of the two first novices from that country and will take place in Cagayan de Oro. Fr. Aloísio Back has been appointed District Administrator for one year. In the meantime the District personnel should decide upon a system to choose a regular district government.

Congratulations go to the following members of the Polish Province who will be ordained to the priesthood on May 29, 1999 in the seminary chapel at Stadniki by Bishop Kazimierz Nycz:
