New?Homily for Feast of the Sacred HeartPosted to the Letters & Documents page is the homily given by Fr. General in Ottawa on the Feast of the Sacred Heart marking the creation of the new Region of Canada. The homily is available in English, French and Italian.
New Website
The Northern Italian Province has a new website at http://www.dehoniani.it. On it you will be able to find monthly news news updates. The site is a 'work in progress' any and all suggestions and comments will be appreciated.

What's
Happening?CanadaMembers of the new region of Canada (CAN) along with Fr. General, Fr. Tom Cassidy and several scjs from the US Province gathered for a group photo following the liturgy on the Feast of the Sacred Heart. The new regional administration was installed at a Vespers Service on the eve of the feast.
Latin America
Vidimus Dominum (http://www.vidimusdominum.org/) has published an extract (Latin America: Dehonians are aiming at launching the Dehonian family) of the report given by Umberto Chiarello (CU) on the meeting of lay dehonians in Chile. His report appeared on our site in Italian on our June 1st news update (cf.IV INCONTRO LATINO AMERICANO dei LAICI DEHONIANI).
Santiago (Chile), June 5 (VID) - "In the current state, it is religious who have to open themselves up the most to the idea of the Dehonian Family and to the groups of Dehonian that are coming. While organizational autonomy is complete, the accompaniment of religious is still essential for formative support. While many have done so, not everyone has become aware that they will have to tend toward the self-financing of their own activities." Father Umberto Chiarello, SCJ, pointed this out, summing up the results of the Fourth Latin American meeting of Lay Dehonians, that took place at the beginning of May in Chile.
North Brazil - Feast of the Sacred Heart in North Brazil
On Friday morning the North Brazilian Province celebrated the Feast of the Sacred Heart at the provincial house with the provincial superior as principle celebrant at the Eucharistic Liturgy. Fr. Tarcísio Pereira de Paiva celebrated it with scjs from around the province. The Eucharist began with a procession to the chapel.
The Liturgy marked the official opening of the local celebration of the Dehonian Year. Fr. Marcos Lima, a member of the provincial council, preached. Following up on a suggestion from Fr. General the provincial presented each scj present with a copy of Fr. Andrea Tessarolo's book "Theolgia Cordis" translated into Portuguese by Sacred Heart University.
Other priests, religious and lay friends of the SCJs joined in the mass and a lunch following the liturgy.
Rome
Fr. General retuned to Rome from his visit to Canada on June 11th. He will travel later this month to Albania. The trip to Albania will complete his official pastoral visits to the congregation.
